Ecoulement est une projection d’images paysagères trompeusement statiques. Ces images devenues flux diffèrent infimement en chaque instant. Elles s’étendent puis se raccourcissent ; elles s’écoulent en cherchant à se rejoindre puis à se scinder pour dévoiler un nouveau paysage, en perpétuelle métamorphose. On assiste à la création et l’évolution d’une multitude de nouveaux panoramas élaborés par combinaison de fragments de paysages. L’effort de vision mis en jeu demande de se laisser atteindre par l’image pour en faire l’expérience, en se laissant immerger dans un inépuisable ensemble de détails où l’oeil ne sait jamais où se situer, où se poser, toujours aux aguets d’un potentiel événement ou mouvement.

Ecoulement is a video installation which invites us to replace and ancre ourselves in the fragile and natural cycle of the world through subtle flows of images. By playing with illusions and hallucinations, this artwork challenges our attention and the way we see the world. Forcing our awareness asks us to let ourselves be vulnerable to this flow to experience an ever-changing variety of details where our gaze does not quite know where to go, where to focus, but remains on the lookout for something new to happen. We are thus invited to come to terms with the idea of slowing down or completely stop in order to follow the rhythm created by the artwork so as to allow ourselves to feel what the eye cannot see. This reconstruction of images, hallucinations and poetical imagery, enables a new look on the outside world and invites us to enter a new fow, slower, leading us to transform our way to comprehend the world. Through this game of illusions combining stillness and movement, the fragmentation and wholeness of places, this artwork aims at revealing the cognitive loss of our gaze in the modern world. Ecoulement invites us to take a moment to ourselves, to take a deep breath, awake our consciousness and accept the elusiveness of life; to let things be and become; to reveal that the true beauty of things resides in their endless variations.
